- **Event Description**: Nova Linea Contemporary Dance is proud to bring back “Bloom & Decline” this August, reimagined with new sections, new dancers, and a deepened vision. This return offers an evolved perspective on the work, made even more meaningful through a special collaboration with the Guest Artists from our Professional Intensive with the Performance Experience. Their voices and presence bring new layers of energy and insight to the piece, expanding its emotional and physical scope.

“Bloom & Decline” explores the complex, shifting relationship we have with time. The first half of the work offers a youthful lens—one where time feels expansive, almost infinite. It invites audiences to reflect on how we move through our early experiences when the passing of time feels slow, and life seems to stretch far ahead. What do we do with that sense of abundance? How do we grow when we’re unaware of how temporary everything truly is?

After intermission, the perspective changes. Time begins to feel more fragile, more urgent. The second half is a meditation on the choices we make once we become aware of how quickly things pass—how relationships change, how memories accumulate, and how we start to measure our time more carefully. The work moves toward a quiet reckoning, asking what it means to make peace with both presence and impermanence.

Join us on the Tuesday performance for a special celebration honoring the stage retirement of Megan Kelty and Sydney Goeman—two original company artists who have been with Nova Linea since its founding. In addition to their work as dancers, both have served as rehearsal assistants, helping guide the company’s process and supporting its growth behind the scenes. Their artistry, leadership, and unwavering dedication have left an indelible mark on Nova Linea, and this performance will offer a meaningful opportunity to recognize their impact and celebrate their final moments onstage.
