You will receive an automatic acknowledgement when you submit this form, and also a reminder of the details 2 days before the walk.Walk leader: Brenda CameronThis is a circular 5mile walk from Bromsgrove station.Meeting arrangements:Meet at Bromsgrove train station at 11.00am.Travel by train: You need to catch the 10.23am train which leaves Birmingham New Street station stopping at stations along the line and arrives Bromsgrove at 10.56 am. This train usually departs New Street from platform 12, but please check first. The return fare from New Street is £8.60. West Midlands pass holders need to buy a ticket from Longbridge to Bromsgrove.If driving: There is a large car park at Bromsgrove station which at the time of writing is £1.50 on a SaturdayWalk Description:This walk features an attractive 18th century church at Tardebigge, a reservoir, canal locks and nice countryside views.From the station we walk down a quiet lane and cross fields to the canal and Tardebigge reservoir passing a series of canal locks. We will pause at the reservoir to take in the views and the birdlife across the water. Continuing on the canal we ascend the short slope to Tardebigge church where we will take a break with an opportunity to explore the church if it’s open and enjoy the views. We then rejoin the canal briefly, cross it to join a field path which passes by a paddock with what look like rescue animals – if they are still there of course. Look but don’t pat them on the head or feed them! We pick up the Monarch’s Way and follow it along quiet lanes with a small diversion to take a very pleasant field path back to the lane. The final part of the walk towards Bromsgrove follows a tree-lined path alongside parkland and the road back down to the station. There are cafes near to the station so an opportunity for a coffee/drink break before your return journey. There are three trains an hour back to Birmingham.Bookings for this walk will close at 06.00 on Thursday 16 July .
