As Torrens University PhD Professional Doctorate-Research Candidate, Koomal specialises in behaviour analysis, and has extensive experience working across the Autism, Disability, and Mental Health Care sectors.Koomal’s focus has historically been on Positive Behaviour and Trauma-Informed Support, applying evidence-based and socially validated practices to create meaningful, lasting change.In 2022, Koomal was a guest speaker at the Special Education Principals' and Leaders' Association conference; sharing best practices for supporting children with diverse needs in educational settings.Between 2023-25, Koomal was president of the Association for Behaviour Analysis Australia (ABA Australia) and in 2025 presented on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) at the ABA Australia conference.Koomal’s specialises in parent training, functional communication, toilet training, school transitions, and the implementation of school-wide positive behaviour support strategies.
