Among the Wildflowers, 16 July | Event in Bromley | Among the Wildflowers
Lockdown saw a number of bands from across the UK connecting online with the aim of combining the Emo/Adjacent DIY scenes into a national collective that is fair for all.

Almost a year on from the start of that adventure, How to Make Friends is proud to present AMONG THE WILDFLOWERS; a curation of some of the finest Emo / DIY bands in UK at the moment. Featuring…

No introduction needed. The four Piece Anarchic Powerpop heroes originally hailing from Watford will be treating us to their first London outing following the release of their forthcoming new record 'The Evil One'. FFO singing & dancing. Arguably one of the most beloved and enjoyable live band in the UK, we're absolutely blessed and delighted to have them see out the day in style.

I Feel Fine
Brighton emo quartet famed for gang vocals, gang vocals and more gang vocals. FFO The Hotelier, Crash of Rhinos, CSTVT and The Appleseed Cast. They released their debut LP 'The Cold in Every Shelter' last year on Venn records and will be joining us following a run of shows with Flight Mode and Hit Like a Girl.

Slash Fiction
Slash Fiction is the beating heart at the centre of Sheffield’s one-band emo queercore scene. A raucous five-piece with trademark Sad Bangers running the gamut of emotions from sadness to anger to angry sadness. The band will be treating us to a full playthrough of their stunning fist LP 'Gender, Trauma & Friendship' fresh from a UK tour with Riley! In June.

Self-described as a four-piece pile of limbs from Herts' UK', Brutalligators play happy energetic songs about heartbreak, life going wrong and all of the injustices in the world today. The band Stole our hearts last year with their debut LP 'This House is Too Big, This House is Too Small'. FFO Tellison, Martha, Camp Cope, & Fight Milk & songs about divorce.

The Losing Score
Having just been announced as the latest signing to Counter Intuitive the Shrewsbury trio offer up the catchiest collection of emo/pop punk bangers going. Expect hooks that will stay with you for days. With a debut LP set to release later this year we're predicting big things. FFO Prince Daddy & The Hyena, Mom Jeans, Oso Oso.

Quite simply one or the hardest working bands in the UK scene right now with an unmissable live show. Expect a fist pumping mix of grunge, punk and emo. FFO Tony Hawks pro Skater 2, Gnarwolves, Budweiser and Self-Deprecation.

Into the Red
Sheffield's one and only emotional Space Rock outfit will be joining us for their first outing to London off of the back of their latest EP 'Velocity'. For fans of Nasa & Midwest emo made on the moon.

Incaseyouleave from London play beautiful euro centric screamo in the vein of Suis La Lune, Rein & Kidcrash. The band put out their debut EP 'Time and Why it Doesn't Deserve us' in 2021, arguably one of the most underrated UK releases of late.

The Yacht Club
Solo set from vocalist Marcus Gooda of veteran UK twinkle daddies The Yacht Club. Expect pristine guitar playing and heart on your sleeve lyricism. FFO TTNG, Colour, American Football and fretting the guitar with two hands.
