- **Event Description**: The SSI Freediver course is more than just a certification—it's your foundation for a safe, confident, and enjoyable freediving journey.
Whether you're starting out or building on existing experience, this course blends theory and practice to take your skills deeper.

You’ll gain a solid understanding of freediving physiology, breathing and relaxation techniques, and safety protocols, all while progressing from the pool to open water—reaching depths of up to 66'. With small class sizes offering an almost private setup, you'll build both skill and confidence, setting the stage for deeper dives and more meaningful underwater experiences.

The course is divided into four key components: online learning, theory review, pool training and open water training.

- Online learning - Approx. 3 hours, completed in your own time.

- Theory review - Saturday from 8am to 11:00am.

- Pool training - Saturday from Noon - 5:00pm and Sunday 9:00am - 3:00pm

- Open water training options, we are traveling to Beaver Lake for open water training after Memorial day (date tbd)

Can I join the class?
• This course is designed for beginner Freedivers with no prior experience.
• Divers with some experience looking to improve their skills.
• Must know how to swim and be comfortable in water.
• All fitness levels are welcome!
• Open to ages 12 and up.

What equipment do I need?
• Pool swimwear (water temperature is 89°F—wetsuit not necessary).
• Wetsuit - for open water training.
• Fins (any type).
• Weight belt and weights.
• Mask and snorkel.
Don't have equipment? Rent it from Scuba Savvy!

What is included? 
• Online learning.

• Pool training in heated pool - 89°F.
• Open water session - full day.
• Online Log book (SSI app).
• Safe and relaxing environment.
• International certification upon course completion.

What is not included?
• Travel to the Beaver Lake in the summer
