Along with five wonderful poets who all have ties to Broadstairs and Pierremont Park, we are holding an evening of poetry and open mic - all with the theme of raising awareness of the importance of our parks for the whole community.

Our line-up includes:
*Rosie Johnston* - writer and poet, Rosie's most recent poetry publication 'Safe Ground' is available through Mica Press
*Nancy Charley* - host of Poetry Club at Kent Talents Art Studios, poet and performer
*Lorraine Williams* - leader/co-founder of Mindful Thanet and Editor of the Broadstairs Beacon, poet and local
*Nick Goodall* - poet and performer from Broadstairs to London (and back again)
*Frances Turner* - host of Poetry Breakfasts for Folk Week and Jazz Festival (and lover of all things purple)

And of course anyone who gets there in time for an open mic slot!

The evening will be hosted by Cheryl-Lya Broadfoot, local resident, poet and community collaborator.

Entry is free with the option of donating what you can.

About:
Pierremont Park is a beautiful oasis of calm, much loved by the people of Broadstairs and visitors. We, the Friends of Pierremont Park, are determined that the park's environment, which is so important for the wellbeing of the town and our visitor economy too, must be protected and enhanced. 

Our Poetry Evening serves to raise awareness and further our purpose to save the Parkland currently threatened by the proposed disposal of the old service depot which can only be accessed via a narrow single track "road" through the protected open space of the park.
