The Skye Copper is a brand-new addition to the Scottish badminton calendar and the first time a graded ranking tournament has been hosted on the Isle of Skye. Copper is the newest tier in Scotland’s competition framework, sitting alongside Bronze, Silver, and Gold, and is aimed at club players who play socially but want to experience competition for the first time.
This exciting new event, part of the West Coast Circuit, will feature Men’s and Women’s Doubles as well as Mixed Doubles. The format is still to be confirmed, but all players will be guaranteed a minimum of three matches in each event they enter. A “Partner Wanted” option will also be available for those who don’t already have a partner.
Feather shuttles will be used throughout the tournament. Entry fees will be confirmed shortly. To take part, players must hold a current Badminton Scotland membership, which can be set up by following the steps here:

The Skye Copper is a fantastic opportunity to get involved in Scotland’s graded tournament system, play plenty of matches in a welcoming environment, and combine badminton with the stunning scenery of Skye. Medals will be awarded to winners and runners-up, and full draws and timings will be published after entries close.
