LINE-UP

Duncan Chisholm
Duncan is one of Scotland’s most recognised and accomplished fiddle players and composers. His music contains the rarest of chemistries – a glorious combination of invention, tenderness and passion. He creates music that requires no introductions or programme notes to carry you on its journey, sumptuously layered and awash with dazzling colours, textures and rhythms. The sound may be traditional, but this is 21st Century traditional music: sophisticated, exhilarating and meltingly beautiful.

Hannah Fisher
Hannah Fisher has been a prominent member of the Scottish indie-folk scene for the last 15 years, touring, writing and recording with some of Scotland’s most influential artists. With a versatility and interest across many genres, she is best known as fiddle player and singer with Idlewild and King Creosote, as well as for long-standing collaborations with acclaimed folk artists Karen Matheson and Roddy Woomble. Her solo creative practice sees inspiration drawn from a deep passion for the Gaelic culture of the Hebrides, with strands of tradition inherently intertwined into more contemporary ideas.

Martin Green
Martin is a multi-award-winning musician and Ivor Novello-winning composer. As a member of Lau, he has won four BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards for Best Group. In 2014, he received a Paul Hamlyn Foundation Award for Artists, and in 2019, he won the Ivor Novello Award for his sound walk Aeons. His acclaimed BBC Radio 4 work exploring rave culture, morris dancing and brass banding has received millions of listens. His first play Keli was staged by the National Theatre of Scotland.

Laura Jane Wilkie
Hailing from Tain in the Highlands, Laura has a unique style rooted in Highland fiddle traditions but influenced by an eclectic range of genres. She has toured internationally with projects including Kinnaris Quintet, Niteworks and Siobhan Miller. As a founding member of Fat-Suit, Laura embraces improvisation across styles, and has collaborated with Shooglenifty, Rachel Sermanni and Elephant Sessions.

Alasdair Roberts
Alasdair is a Glasgow-based musician – primarily a singer and guitarist – born in Germany and raised in central Scotland. Acclaimed by Folk Radio UK as “one of our most talented, important and relevant songwriters and song-adapters,” he has released several critically acclaimed albums. Alasdair is known for both his idiosyncratic compositions and his fresh interpretations of traditional Scottish and narrative ballads.

Malin Lewis
Innovator, award-winning multi-instrumentalist Malin Lewis melds Scottish West Coast fiddle tradition with a newly invented, self-made bagpipe. They weave hair-tingling, philosophical and dance-inducing melodies with European folk traditions, queerness and the universe. Malin’s unique timbre comes from composing for their own two-octave Smallpipe, creating a world of sound that captivates audiences everywhere.

Innes Watson
Innes, from Glasgow, is an award-winning multi-instrumentalist with over twenty years of experience in Scottish music, performance, recording, teaching and producing. He grew up in the Borders in a supportive musical environment that fostered his wide-ranging skills and creativity. Innes is one of the most sought-after musicians in Scotland today and currently teaches at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig.

Ciorstaidh Beaton
Recently crowned “Musician of the Year” at the MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards, Ciorstaidh is known for her rich sound, innovative arrangements and fearlessly driven harping style. A Gaelic speaker from Skye now based in Glasgow, she is a versatile soloist and orchestral harpist. Ciorstaidh composed a “New Voices” commission for Celtic Connections 2025, part of which was filmed for BBC Alba’s Seirm.

SUPPORT
Seònaidh Forrest and Emily Macdonald

Emily is a Gaelic singer from Camus Cross in Sleat who has sung from a young age. She is currently in her second year at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig studying for a degree in teaching. Emily has a deep interest in Gaelic language and culture and is delighted to share songs with audiences.

Seònaidh is a young piper from Sleat who has achieved notable success at junior piping competitions both locally and across Scotland, including first place in the under-15 Pìobaireachd competition at the Northern Meeting in Inverness in 2023. He has performed at many concerts and ceilidhs in Skye and South Uist, including the Ceòlas Piper’s Ceilidh in July 2024, after which the legendary piper Rona Lightfoot was so impressed by his 2/4 March playing that she gifted him a pair of her hand-knitted piping hose. Seònaidh is also a member of the Skye Youth Pipe Band.
