- **Event Name**: ISKGA Scotland - Incident Management Course

- **Event Description**: ISKGA Scotland will be running it’s renowned Incident Management course this October. This four day course will help you develop skills, strategies and tactics for sea kayak safety and rescue in challenging conditions such as wind, tide, rock gardens & surf.

This course is being run by Janek Mamino. Janek is an ISKGA Coastal Guide and Trainer and holds the BCAB Advanced Sea Kayak Leader Award and Moderate Coach Award. 

Where: The course will be based out of Kinloch Campsite in Dunvegan Skye.

Cost: £450pp (course only, accommodation not included). Participants will need to arrange their own accommodation for the duration of the course.  

What: The course focuses on how to recognise, avoid and deal with incidents. There is extensive scenario training in various sea conditions. A sample schedule would be:
 - Getting the basics right and developing a logical thought process that works under pressure
 - Upping the ante, moving into dynamic water and establishing SAFER paddling drills
- Surf zone safety & rescue 
- Rock garden safety & rescue 

Who: You should be at or close to the level of Coastal Sea Kayak Award or above. While specific qualifications are not required, you should be comfortable in Sea State 3 + and have some experience of rough water rescues. This course is ideal for anyone working towards a leadership award and for paddlers wishing to develop skills & strategies for more challenging conditions. A reliable roll is an advantage but not essential. 

When: 16th - 19th October 2026

Additional Certification: All participants will receive the BCAB Sea Kayak Safety and Rescue Award as part of this course. 
Participants meeting the required level can also be awarded the Coastal Sea Kayak Award. Please state this on your participant form.
