Díky pomoci mého kolegy a kamaráda Jona Tonkse se mi podařilo pozvat do Brna fotografa Martina Parra – a to v termínu 21.–23. listopadu.
Je to malý zázrak a unikátní příležitost Martina osobně potkat, poslechnout si jeho přednášku s názvem Martin Parr: Life Through Photography a mít možnost se ho zeptat opravdu na cokoli.
Po přednášce bude totiž prostor pro to nejdůležitější – otevřenou diskusi, kde se můžete Martina ptát na jeho práci, přístup k tématům, pohled na současnou fotografii, ale třeba i na praktické věci, jako je nacenění fotografií či jiné otázky z fotografického prostředí. Ať už vás zajímá technika, směr tvorby, nebo jen potřebujete ujistit, že v určitých pochybnostech nejste sami… Nebojte se zeptat!
Martin slíbil, že bude odpovídat na cokoli. Proto není třeba mít obavy – ptejte se přímo a bez obalu. Není nutné mít „dokonalou“ otázku – právě naopak.
Smyslem večera je sdílet, ptát se a mluvit otevřeně o tom, co nám jako fotografům, studentům i tvůrcům běží hlavou. Možná právě vaše otázka otevře důležité téma.
Akce by měla probíhat v přátelské, uvolněné atmosféře, věnovaná především vám – nám, studentům. A když bude nálada a listopadové počasí nám dopřeje, můžeme si po skončení udělat i táborák 😊
Nechtěl jsem akci pořádat ve velké instituci, ale spíše na menším, příjemném místě – proto se bude konat v malé obecní knihovně v Ostopovicích, které jsou v podstatě součástí Brna.
Martin Parr bude v Brně tři dny:
• Pátek 21. 11. – přednáška
• Sobota 22. 11. – portfolio review až pro 12 zájemců
• Neděle 23. 11. – neformální snídaně s Martinem Parrem

Thanks to the help of my colleague and friend Jon Tonks, I have managed to invite photographer Martin Parr to Brno – from 21–23 November.
It is a small miracle and a unique opportunity to meet Martin in person, listen to his lecture titled Martin Parr: Life Through Photography, and have the chance to ask him absolutely anything.
After the lecture, there will be time for what is most important – an open discussion, where you can ask Martin about his work, his approach to themes, his view on contemporary photography, but also about practical matters such as pricing photographs or other questions related to the photographic environment. Whether you are curious about technique, the direction of artistic work, or simply need reassurance that you are not alone in certain doubts… don’t hesitate to ask!
Martin has promised to answer any question. So there is no need to worry – ask directly and openly. There is no need to have a “perfect” question – quite the opposite.
The aim of the evening is to share, to ask, and to talk openly about what is on our minds as photographers, students, and creators. Perhaps it will be your question that opens up an important topic.
The event should take place in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, dedicated especially to you – to us the students. And if the mood is right and the November weather is kind, we may even have a campfire afterwards 😊
I didn’t want to hold the event in a large institution, but rather in a smaller, pleasant place – that’s why it will take place in the small municipal library in Ostopovice, which is essentially part of Brno.
Martin Parr will be in Brno for three days:
• Friday 21.11. – lecture
• Saturday 22.11. – portfolio review for up to 12 participants
• Sunday 23.11. – informal breakfast with Martin Parr
