Projekt Dave Weckl / Tom Kennedy přiváží na Groove Brno setkání dvou ikon světového jazzu v sestavě, která nemá slabé místo.
Dave Weckl. 🥁 Jedna z největších bubenických osobností moderní historie. Hudebník, který definoval podobu jazz fusion posledních dekád, spolupracoval s Chickem Coreou a jehož jméno je pro bubeníky po celém světě synonymem preciznosti, dynamiky a groove.

Tom Kennedy 🎸 patří k absolutní špičce světové baskytary — technicky suverénní, rytmicky nekompromisní, hudebně odvážný.
Společně s klávesistou Stu Mindeman 🎹 a saxofonistou Ryan Devlin 🎷 vytvářejí all-star fusion sestavu postavenou na intenzivní improvizaci, dravé rytmice a souhře, která vzniká přímo před publikem.

Po úspěšných evropských turné v letech 2021–2024 se projekt vrací s novým materiálem z Kennedyho aktuální desky New Start, kterou produkoval a mixoval právě Weckl. Čeká vás vysokooktanová jízda napříč latin, afro i modern jazz rytmy — koncert, kde se technická brilance mění v čistou energii. ⚡

Festival probíhá za finanční podpory statutárního města Brna a Jihomoravského kraje. Hlavními partnery festivalu Groove Brno jsou Teplárny Brno, a.s. a SAKO Brno, a.s.

The Dave Weckl / Tom Kennedy Project brings together two icons of world jazz in a lineup without a weak link.
Dave Weckl. 🥁 One of the most influential drummers of the modern era. A musician who helped shape jazz fusion over the past decades, known for his work with Chick Corea, and a name that stands for precision, dynamics, and groove among drummers worldwide.

Tom Kennedy 🎸 ranks among the absolute elite of today’s bass players — technically masterful, rhythmically fearless, musically bold.

Joined by keyboardist Stu Mindeman 🎹 and saxophonist Ryan Devlin 🎷, they form an all-star fusion ensemble built on intense improvisation, driving rhythms, and real-time interplay unfolding right in front of the audience.

Following successful European tours between 2021 and 2024, the project returns with new material from Kennedy’s latest album New Start, produced and mixed by Weckl.
