(CZ) Vážené kolegyně, vážení kolegové,
srdečně Vás zveme do Brna na další ročník mezinárodní multioborové konference Čaj u Mefista, zaměřené na vědecký výzkum okultismu a jemu blízkých témat. Jediné svého druhu jak v České, tak Slovenské republice.
Konference je jako každý rok otevřená odborníkům z různých oblastí – od historie, religionistiky a etnologie po psychologii a biologii. Zabývá se tématy jako je magie, alchymie, astrologie, mystika, memetika a thelema, či výzkumem organizací jako zednáři, rosenkruciáni, Teosofická společnost nebo O.T.O. (atp.)
Ale zveme také praktiky, zástupce okultních organizací, inspirované umělce i širokou zajímající se veřejnost. Naším cílem je, aby konference byla nejen odbornou akcí, ale také velkým komunitním setkáním a diskusí napříč scénou. Program konference bude živě přenášen na YouTube a Facebooku – loňský ročník sledovalo online přes 2 093 lidí, osobně dorazilo 91 účastníků. Konference nemá jednotné téma, je platformou pro sdílení různorodých výzkumů, projektů, pohledů a iniciativ.
I letos nebude chybět bohatý doprovodný program. Těšit se můžete na výstavy historických artefaktů i okultismem inspirovaného umění. Na performance, ukázku rituálů, mentalismus a na mnoho dalšího. Chybět nebude ani komentovaná prohlídka Památníku a zajímavých míst Brna.

(EN) Dear Esteemed Colleagues,
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to Brno for the upcoming edition of the international, interdisciplinary conference Tea at Mephisto’s, devoted to the scholarly investigation of occultism and related fields. This conference remains unique in its focus within both the Czech and Slovak Republics.
As in previous years, the event is open to specialists from a broad range of academic disciplines – including history, religious studies, ethnology, psychology, and biology. Thematically, the conference encompasses subjects such as magic, alchemy, astrology, mysticism, memetics, and Thelema, as well as research into esoteric movements and organizations, including Freemasonry, Rosicrucianism, the Theosophical Society, and the O.T.O., among others.
In addition to academic researchers, we also extend our invitation to practitioners, representatives of occult organizations, artists inspired by esotericism, and members of the broader public with a genuine interest in the field. It is our aim that the conference serve not only as a rigorous academic forum but also as a dynamic community gathering and a space for open interdisciplinary dialogue. The entire program will be livestreamed via YouTube and Facebook; last year’s edition attracted over 2,093 online viewers and welcomed 91 participants in person. The conference does not follow a fixed thematic framework, but rather provides a platform for the presentation of diverse research, perspectives, projects, and initiatives.
This year’s event will once again feature a rich accompanying program, including exhibitions of historical artifacts and occult-inspired art, performances, ritual demonstrations, mentalist acts, and more. A guided tour of the Jiří Mahen Memorial and other notable sites in Brno will also be part of the program.
