Join us for our latest open meeting on Tuesday 25th Nov from 7pm-9pm at the Berry Head Hotel.
This month's speakers:
*1. The Edge*
Earlier this year Brixham YES sadly entered administration and the services they provided at The Edge on Bolton St were put at risk.
However a new group is hoping to buy the building and rebuild a community hub here. Andrew Crane will be talking to us about their plans.
*2. Mapzest*
Stu Francis is a tech founder who lives in Brixham, and has recently been developing a new interactive map software which you've probably seen already - Mapzest. It already features many local businesses and allows tourists and locals alike to see what events are happening.
We're very excited to invite Stu to talk to us about his app and how he plans to expand!
*3. Destination Marketing - decision time for ERBID 3*
For 9 years destination marketing in the English Riviera has been funded and coordinated by the English Riviera BID Company - after Torbay Council announced that they would be cancelling all their funding for this service.
Early in 2026 relevant businesses will be invited to vote on whether to extend this BID for a further 5 years.
Our Chamber is strongly supportive of the ERBID. We feel that the whole area gets huge benefits from the destination marketing work that they do, and each business gets excellent value for the amount they are charged by the BID. However we recognise there are a range of views and would like to give local businesses a good chance to learn more about this decision.
We have invited Carolyn Custerson from ERBID to talk to us about the results delivered by the current BID, and the plans for the 3rd version (which would start 1st January 2027).
We have also invited other speakers to present alternative options for how Brixham and the English Riviera could attract visitors.
This part of the meeting will involve presentations and a panel discussion, and we look forward to a lively debate!
Our open meetings are open to everyone. You might be a member, or a non-member business, or a local resident interested in the topics under discussion. If you plan to come, it is helpful to let us know in advance, at
