Music taught me discipline, teamwork, and built my confidence, but it requires public funds for children whose parents cannot afford to buy musical instruments and pay for lessons.I was fortunate that Portway School in Shirehampton (now known as Oasis Academy Brightstowe) had an excellent school orchestra and, thanks to the Bristol Music Trust, I got help with access to a tenor saxophone, one-on-one tuition, and the ability to take my grades – opportunities I would not have had without public funding.Guest speaker to be announced soon!Important:This event is only for people who live in my Bristol North West constituency. If you are not a constituent, your ticket will be cancelled. (You can check if your address is in my constituency here.)For security reasons, the venue details will only be shared with attendees 24 hours before the event. The venue will be in or close to Shirehampton. The venue is wheelchair accessible. - **Event URL**: https://allevents.in/bristol/we-need-affordable-arts-and-culture-for-the-many-not-the-few/100001872417815089 - **Event Categories**: music, entertainment, live-music, art - **Interested Audience**: - total_interested_count: 0 ## Ticket Details - **Ticket Price Range**: min: 0, max: 0, currency: GBP ## Event venue details - **city**: Bristol - **state**: EN - **country**: United Kingdom - **location**: Shirehampton - **lat**: 51.4888215 - **long**: -2.6744603 - **full address**: Shirehampton, (In or close to Shirehampton.
