Vocal Improvisation for Song-Writers
Vocal Improvisation is an emergent artform, essentially about removing obstacles and allowing creative, vocal and lyrical rivers to flow.
This is a workshop for vocalists, poets, lyricists, songwriters, story tellers and song leaders who want to learn powerful techniques for:
- Deep lyrical fluency - being able to freestyle, compose, and improvise lyrics with ease and artistry
- Vocal collaboration - so that you can harmonise richly on other peoples songs, and others can harmonise on yours
- Creating vocal parts for the audience or other performers - pre-composed or improvised in the moment - to help them join in and amplify the work
- Inhabiting your authenticity and full potential as a vocalist, as a messenger.
**Very comfortable bnb is available at the house attached to the studio for £35 per head. Contact ZGVlIHwgYnJpb255Z3JlZW5oaWxsICEgY29t if you need accommodation.**
Briony Greenhill teaches vocal improvisation internationally; students have desribed her as a 'master', her work as 'life-changing'. Here is a short video about her work.
To be clear, this weekend isn't a 'discover your voice' / beginners workshop; rather, it is a 'discover or learn more about improvisation' workshop for practicing vocalists.
Past participants have said:
“One of the most powerful experiences of my life! I feel changed on a cellular level!”
“Some singing teachers teach you sing with your voice. Briony teaches you to sing with your heart and sing from your soul.”
“You made it feel like a womb. Protected, loved, nourished, warm and holding.”
