Visible Data Training: Dashboards and Interactive Dataviz with R & Shiny
R is a tremendously popular and powerful scripting language used by millions of analysts and data scientists around the world, and the recently developed tidyverse provides incredible tools for quickly wrangling, cleaning, understanding and visualising data.
However, many folks feel a little lost in the sea of packages and %>% that they see in in other's code and documentation.
Visible Data specialises in providing training courses that help folks find their feet and gain confidence with a technology. We've been running commercial and academic training courses for over 6 years and know how to get a diverse group of users from okay to confident.
This training course covers the following topics:
Reproducibly using the tidyverse to import .csv and Excel files into R
Programmatically cleaning and wrangling data with dplyr, tidyr and more tidyverse packages
Exploratory data analysis using ggplot2
Publish publication quality static charts and maps with ggplot2
Create rich interactive HTML reports with RMarkdown
Design responsive mobile-ready interactive visualisations using the following htmlwidget packages: leaflet (choropleth), plotly (scatter plots), highcharter (bar charts), visNetwork (network graph)
BYOD (Bring Your Own Device)
Our courses are always BYOD as we want you to learn how to do things on your machine.
We're always happy when folks have a variety of Operating Systems (Windows, macOS and Linux) as it allows us to demonstrate just how reproducible and portable R code can be.
We'll also be providing a free lunch from Pret-a-manger.
Who's training us?
This training course will be delivered by Martin John Hadley. Martin has over 6 years experience delivering in-person and on-demand training courses, here are some highlights from their career:
LinkedIn Learning content creator (see my courses here)
