For our twelth installation of Bristol's best free underground Balkan night, we return with a post-festival aplomb rivaling that of Gandalf vs. the Balrog but with Duel of the Fates by John Williams instead of Howard Shore's Khazad-dûm.
We present the almighty Merkäta! And we are joining forces with the incredibly talented Rhiannon Sharkey A.K.A. Panda (of the Moniums) ... Merkäta is a rising force of the underground sound. His productions fuse psychedelic elements with jungle, drum & bass, and 4x4 to create hypnotic blends, intricate soundscapes, and mind-bending textures that push the boundaries of modern dance music.
Rhiannon is one of the most talented singers and rappers we've ever had the honour of not only witnessing, but playing twice with now at Boomtown and Ashton Court Manor. She's trained in traditional Balkan singing but earned her chops MCing over London's Jungle nights and shares the same vision with Gypsyndicate. She's part of the fam now.
Set times:
Gypsyndicate (19:00 - 21:00)
Merkäta (21:00 - 22:30)
Gypsyndicate ft. Sharkey (22:30 - Midnight)
2025 has been a defining year for Merkäta, with his track “Jericho Skank” named Tune of the Week on BBC Southwest, where James Threlfall hailed him as “one of Bristol’s best producers.” Alongside this recognition, standout performances at Kosmos Festival (Finland), Boomtown, Existence, Shindig, and Tribe of Frog have cemented his reputation for delivering high-octane, immersive journeys across both festival stages and underground club settings.
As the creative force behind Bristol's event collective, Alchemy Audio, Merkäta has also been instrumental in curating some of the most immersive and unforgettable events in the city.
