PLEASE JOIN THE #LINKEDINLOCAL MAILING LIST TO GET NEWS ABOUT FUTURE DATES AND VENUES
Your hosts Greg Cooper and Christian Annesley
Welcome to the Bristol #LinkedInLocal. The #LinkedInLocal movement is an idea that started in New Zealand in 2017 by Anna McAfee and has caught peoples' imaginations. The idea is very simply to put the social back into social media, to meet the person behind the LinkedIn profile. It's also a great way to meet with existing and new connections in an informal business context. Bring your business card but leave your pitch at home.
The friendly folks at the Bristol Hotel have generously offered to sponsor us again for the November event. They will be providing the venue and refreshments which means that almost all of your booking fee will go to a local charity, which this time will be Key for Life, a small local charity, whose aim is to reduce youth reoffending through the delivery of an innovative rehabilitation programme to those in Pr*son and those at risk of going to Pr*son. Read more about them here.
The venue this time will be Shore Longe (on the waterfront). The Bristol is on Prince Street, a short walk from the City Centre and about 15 minutes from the railway station. If you are coming by car there is a multi-storey car park next to the hotel, there is also meter parking in nearby Queens Square. Parking in the adjacent NCP LinkedIn is expensive but LinkedIn Local guests will get a 50% discount. There is also parking at the nearby Mud Dock.
This time we are going to do something different and have a 20-minutes panel discussion: "Brexit - Reality Check". This is an opportunity to fire your questions at three extremely knowledgeable business experts and get practical answers without the politics. It's not a debate over in and out. We hope you will find this useful. There will be an opportunity to chat with the experts after the panel session too.
8.30-8.45 Registration and coffee/tea
8.50-9.00 Welcome and a few words from Joanna Morgan of The Bristol Hotel.
09.30-9.50 Panel discussion.
10.00-10.30 Informal networking and conversations.
Following the popularity of her sessions at the last Local, we have persuaded Shiatsu practitioner and Somatic Movement Therapist, Astrid Bunne, to join us again and allay our Brexit anxieties with some free magical massages.
