This is a course run by a great mechanic called Alice. It’s aimed at those starting out with bike mechanics,  to give confidence and skills to fix the basics, save money on servicing, and fix roadside repairs in training and racing. Also ideal for multi day adventures. Max 8 people on the course so spaces will fill quickly.

Day 1

Intro to Bike Mechanics
M check
Demo Wheel Removal and tube install
Everyone practise
Demo Patching a tube
Everyone patch a tube
(optional tubeless demo for those interested)
Demo chain checker and chain care
Demo chain breaking and quick-link install
Everyone practise chain breaking and quick link install
chain fix without a quick-link (if time/appropriate)
Derailleur hanger chat and identification
Demo snapped gear cable and limit screw adjustment
Tubeless demo and everyone try plugging

Day 2

Cleaning
What is important to clean? What is aesthetic only?
Brakes first, isopropyl alcohol, theory of facing pads.
Removing chain and cassette, snip and undo cable (take photo first).  
Clean chainset and derailleur. Putting back together apart from chain.
Replace chain and cassette/chainrings. 
Chain breaking
Demonstrate limit screws with chain off, everyone check and setup
Demo re-install chain 
Reinstall/replace cable.
Check if internally routed, full outer.
Demo indexing. Everyone to re install chain, check limit screws with hand. 
Demo brake alignment
Practise alignment
Demo simple bucket bleed for shimano brakes only
Cable disc brake adjustments
