Bristol Independent Mental Health Network (BIMHN)
The Bristol Independent Mental Health Network (BIMHN) represents a diverse community of past, current and future users of Bristol’s mental health services, as well as those with lived experiences of mental health.
We provide a safe space for people to confidentially share their needs and experiences of services, while we campaign for change by holding local providers to account.
BIMHN also acts against discrimination, promoting a positive understanding of mental health through education.
We hope that by challenging current practice, we can increase parity of esteem and instigate worthwhile change, allowing people to access the care that they deserve. For more information, take a look at our website or email us at bimhn[at]imhn.org.
We believe a better life is possible for millions of people affected by mental illness.
Rethink is a national charity which supports almost 60,000 people every year across England to get through crises, to live independently and to realise they are not alone.
In Bristol, we have provided community based mental health support for people across the city for many years, helping those affected and their families make a positive difference in their lives. We are also passionate and proactive in improving access to mental health services across diverse communities and provide Mental Health First Aid training as part of this work.
As part of our work nationally and locally we campaign to reduce the stigma around mental illness, and are joint Coordinators for the Bristol Time to Change Hub 2018-19.

Joining the dots between emotional and physical wellbeing....
We are a Bristol based social peer network. Our vision is to create an open, compassionate culture that is without stigma, empowering people to be themselves. Mental health continues to be hugely misconceived within our society. We all have mental health ! And as with our physical health we will at some time in our lives experience ill health related to one or the other.
We provide innovative ways of engaging through social events, networking training and open dialogue therapy.
