We will be hedgelaying 100m of the hedgerow this winter, joining up with where we began hedgelaying on site in 2022.Please note this is not a formal training session, but beginners are welcome to join . We are usually able to pair beginners up with more experienced volunteers so that you can learn as you go. If you havent joined us before, please register as a volunteer by clicking the link at the bottom of the page.Getting thereThe hedgerow we will be working on is at Barrs Court Moated Park. There is free on street parking along surrounding roads.About Hedgerow HeroesAt CPRE Avon and Bristol we have an ambition to create/restore 10km hedgerow by CPRE’s centenary year in 2026. Over the last 3 years we have achieved 5.85km of our target, which wouldn’t have been possible without the fantastic work of volunteers. This winter our Hedgerow Heroes project continues to grow bigger and better, now taking place across the counties of South Gloucestershire, Bath and North East Somerset, and North Somerset.Planting and restoring hedgerows can prevent soil erosion, increase biodiversity by providing wildlife habitat for many species of birds, insects, butterflies and small mammals and can increase the overall aesthetic appeal of a landscape.We still need your help!Register as a volunteer to recieve details on upcoming activities, and join us to help improve hedgerows across the South West.
