Denis Burn - The Role of High Sheriff

Denis Burn - The Role of High Sheriff

Barley Wood House in Wrington have pleasure in inviting you to the next Business Breakfast meeting to be held at the house on Friday 1st February.

Somerset's High Sheriff, Denis Burn, will be speaking about the role of the High Sheriff and the priorities that he has adopted for his year. They centre on encouraging and enabling young people from some of the most disadvantaged neighbourhoods to follow a pathway to an apprenticeship.

Across Somerset, from Bath to Porlock and Portishead to Chard, we have too many young people caught in a web of disadvantage.  In some communities, pathways to a successful life can be hard to find and follow when friends appear to make easy money from crime, particularly drug dealing.

With this in mind, Mr Burn want to establish an Unlocking Potential programme that targets highly disadvantaged young people aged 13-15.
