Deep Discs presents Raphaël Top-Secret

Coroners Court (Lakota) // 10pm-5am
Tickets: £5/£8/£12

Our winter series begins with us heading back to one of our favourite venues in Bristol, Coroners Court. We have left no stone unturned with these events and have invited Parisian party starter Raphaël Top-Secret to make sure our first one is kicking.

Raphaël Top-Secret is deservedly regarded as one of Europe’s foremost diggers. His collaborations with Jamie Tiller this year in both their ‘Uneven Paths: Deviant Pop From Europe, 1980-1991’ compilation and Dekmantel Boiler Room are perfect testaments to the breadth of both of their taste. Jamie Tiller asserts that ‘many roads lead back to Raphaël when it comes to great discoveries.’ His commitment to digging the flea markets of Europe is delightfully apparent in his undefined DJ sets that explore multiple genres from select Reggae and R&B to odd-ball Disco and House jams. Amongst all of his success as a digger and a DJ, Raphaël has found the time to produce and edit a selection of formidable tracks. The latest of these being his edit of Stanislas Tohon’s ‘Owhaaou!’. This release on Hunee’s ‘Hunchin’ All Night’ compilation earlier this year was perhaps the catalyst to his meteoric rise in 2018. Expect a carefully curated, intelligent and fun-loving selection of un-shazamable music at the Coroners Court. In which Raphaël, an act at the top of his game, perfectly unravels what we believe the art of Djing to be all about.
