Child Protection Lead Training

Does your organsiation run children's groups within a community, sports or church setting?  Are you the Designated Safeguarding Lead for this group? Is this children's group within South Goucestershire?  If the answer is YES to all of these questions than I am offering you FREE lead child protection training.

This is an opportunity for you to have Lead Child Protection Training, to know your roles and responsibilites as the safeguarding lead person, to understand the legislation that governs you and how to act on any safeguarding concerns.  You will also be taught about how the systems work within South Gloucestershire when you raise a concern and how to support your staff or volunteers through their concerns.

The Safeguarding Children Board have funded these places for you so that together we can offer safer groups for our children and young people across the local authority.

The course is 5 hours long and is being hosted by Sue Wheeler who has been commissioned by South Gloucestershire Safeguarding Children Board to deliver this training. They have approved this course.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS ONLY FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE THEIR ORGANISATIONS DESIGNATED SAFEGUARDING LEAD WITHIN A COMMUNITY, SPORTS OR CHURCH SETTING, WITHIN THE SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE LOCAL AUTHORITY.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There is parking at the venue.

Will there be refreshments at the venue?

Lunch will not be provided but there will be refreshments for you at the training.

What can I bring into the event?

Please bring with you a pen/pencil and some paper to make notes on.

Will I get a certificate?

Yes. Each attendee will recieve a certified certificate at the end of the course.

Do I have to pay for the course?

No. The course is free. It is being funded by The Safeguarding Children Board.
