Traditionally, crisis team members were expected to provide effective leadership during an incident with little or no crisis management training. The impacts of stress, interference, poor information and escalating events means that this approach is no longer considered acceptable nor is it sufficient to manage a major incident effectively.
This one-day, practical course, will provide participants an overview on the fundamentals of preparing for a crisis, managing a crisis, and communicating in a crisis using experiential techniques. The day will end with participants forming a Crisis Management Team and working their way through a simulated crisis, enabling them to put to practice the techniques learnt throughout the day.
