4. What counts towards the miles?
Walking, running, swimming, rolling, cycling—any active movement. All mobility-friendly distances are welcomed. It’s flexible and inclusive.

The challenge runs throughout July and August 2025. You can start and end on dates that suit you within that window.
6. Is there a minimum distance or fundraising target?
There’s no minimum—whether you contribute 1 mile or 100, it all helps us reach our shared 500-mile goal. We suggest aiming to raise £500 and suggest choosing a challenging enough distance to do this, but any amount makes a difference.
7. What is the money raised used for?
Every pound goes to Off The Fence’s frontline work: supporting vulnerable young people in schools, women in crisis, and people facing homelessness in Brighton & Hove.
8. Can I do this as a team?
Yes! Groups are encouraged. You can split your mileage or fundraising target across your team and keep each other motivated.
9. How do I track and share my miles?
You can use any fitness tracker, app, or log sheet. We’ll provide a simple tracker you can fill in manually or digitally to stay on track. Strava or fitness watches are good for this too.
10. Do I need to live in Brighton & Hove to take part?
Nope! Anyone can join in and support from wherever they are. But the focus and fundraising directly benefit the Brighton & Hove community.
11. Is there a registration fee?
No, it’s free to take part—but we encourage you to raise what you can for the cause.
12. Can I promote my challenge on social media?
Absolutely! Use the hashtag #500MilesForHope and tag @offthefencetrust to be featured and spread the word.
