We will learn three different techniques; direct method, object method and subtraction method. We work on sheets of glass using rollers, brushes, cotton buds, pencils and pens to make images. Objects like leaves and feathers can also be rolled into the ink to make impressions of their texture and shape. We use black and coloured printing inks and a variety of different sorts of paper. The techniques are easy to do again in your own home or studio.Suitable for all levels including artists and complete beginners. No experience necessary.All materials provided but students are encouraged to bring their own images to work from, such as drawings or photographs. There will also be images and objects to inspire you in the studio. She has an MA in museum and gallery education from the Institute of Education, London. She learned printmaking at a private college in Treviso, Italy and at Kensington and Chelsea Institute in London. Rachel works with wide range of techniques and materials. She makes paintings and sculptures, site-specific installations and performances.
