Open to all levels, from complete beginners to those with experience who would like to explore new ways of working, the course will guide you through developing your own ideas, from figurative and architectural forms to more abstract designs.In the first few weeks you’ll learn key techniques including coiling, slab building, carving from a solid form and hollowing out. You can then choose to focus on creating one larger sculpture or develop several smaller pieces as your ideas evolve.Embers classes are warm, relaxed and fun, allowing participants to explore their creativity alongside a supportive backbone of expert guidance, ensuring that visions are fulfilled and the full potential of clay is explored.Pieces will be fired at the end of the course and there will be options to glaze finished sculptures.Attendees from previous sculpture courses are welcome to attend and work on their own projects with guided support.All clay and firing costs are included in the ticket price. In addition, Ember is a trained and experienced teacher and workshop facilitator and teaches in venues as diverse as schools, festivals, woodlands and prisons.
