Well. Here we are.
Django Chutney are releasing their album on the 7th of December at ever so welcoming Pink Moon.
Try not to miss this 5D immersive experience full of extremely niche references and impersonations inspired by the vast plains of Wisconsin.
Guitars will be strumming, chutney will be tasted, strings will be alphabetised.
Jimmy Rosenberg will be (could be?) proud.
Marlene, give them a steak sandwich.
DJANGO CHUTNEY
Django Chutney have been described as a virtuosic gypsy-jazz ‘manouche et trois’, with equal parts due respect for the genre, unruly chaotic energy, and a huge dose of tongue-in-cheek humour.
Combining tightly woven three part vocal harmonies reminiscent of 30’s and 40’s American vocal groups the Mill’s Brothers and the Ink Spots; ridiculous guitar show-offery that draws as much from Django Reinhardt as it does from Guthrie Govan; Double bass solo’s that drag Pop’s Fosters slap technique kicking and screaming into the 21st century; and a repertoire that’s seemingly firmly rooted in the 30’s Hot Club era, but will suddenly transport you through decades and styles, from New Orleans jazz, to Chicago blues and Parisian Musette, effortlessly, respectfully, but most importantly: with true joie de vivre!
