Returning again in 2026, Wivenhoe Corsairs Community Rowing Club, in partnership with Wivenhoe Sailing Club, invites you to the 2026 “Row the Rat” Adventure Race taking place on the River Colne in Essex, with a 7nm out-and-back tidal course taking crews down the Colne Estuary from Wivenhoe to Rat Island, at the entrance to Geedon Creek, then back to the finish at Wivenhoe Sailing Club.

ELIGIBILITY
The race is open to all coxed traditional fixed seat boats recognised by the Great River Race, with a handicap being used to determine the starting order and to correct the final results. The race is also recognised round of the SECRF's Nelson Cup series.
Women's, Mens and Mixed crews welcome - prizes will be awarded for the winners of each class. To qualify as a mixed crew, a minimum of 50% of rowers must be female.

Please note: With prior arrangement, boats can also be delivered to WSC on the Friday and collected on Sunday. Or left afloat after racing for a return row to Brightlingsea on the Sunday. Please contact us to discuss.
