You will receive two boxes to create your shelter and although this isn’t a true reflection of how homeless people live, we hope to give an insight into how it feels to not have a safe place to call home.
There is also an opportunity to hear from some of YMCA’s residents who have experienced homelessness and learn how our vital work has helped them to belong, contribute and thrive in their community.
A staple part of our fundraising since 2010, Sleep Easy has seen more than 7,000 people sleep rough to raise £2M+ for local YMCA services that help young people rebuild their lives.
All money raised from the event goes into our Moving Forward Fund, which can be accessed by YMCA residents who are ready to move on into their own tenancy, allowing them to buy essential items to make their house a home and enable them to thrive in the next step of their journey.
