The words and the sounds comment on abuse of land and air and water and of the marginalisation of the more-thanhuman communities who live on the land, breath the air and depend on that water. the words are texts that I’ve written myself or I have asked friends and colleagues to write for me. I have also researched and found poems by well-known or obscure poets and writers.Poems that I work with in more than us are written by B. Brecht, D.H. Lawrence, E. Moerike, E.Morgan, H.MacDiarmint, J. Hannukainen, G. Orwell, K. Morrison, T. Trehy. I also work with Haikus by Buson, Chora, Issa Roka, Sampu and others. Nursery Rhyms and Worksongs are further inspiration for my program. The sounds must be appropriate to the meaning of the words without being of lesser importance. There can not be any hierarchy between words and sounds. Both are appropriate to each other and to the subject matterThere are few traditional instruments such as an accordion, a harmonica or a three string tin box guitar to be heard in more than us. More often I use sounds generated by twigs, acorns, a type writer or other familiar and unfamiliar objects more than us is supported by a grant from EcoArt'.Who is Helmut in his own words: I am a political artist working with sound. Through creative, deep engagement with more-than-human elements of environments I explore and uncover connections. Thus I aim to communicate alternative strategies of experience and acceptance. The world, the natural and urban environment, the people in any given system are inspiration and communication, in this way they cooperate with me as equals.The creation process of my art is essential part of his art. Sound, the audible, the inaudible and the imaginable, is the basis of my work. Since starting my journey into the world of sound a long time ago, I investigate sounds that are around us, some are obvious, some are familiar, some have to be found.
