Wild Days Are Coming! Your Kids’ Summer Adventure Starts at Symondsbury Estate
From 18 July to 30 August, we’re inviting families to dive into the joy of Wild Days – our brilliant summer programme packed with FREE outdoor fun, magical adventures and enough fresh air to wear everyone out (in the best way).
Whether you’re bringing the kids or the grandkids, you’ll find plenty to keep them busy – and plenty of ways to relax while they’re off exploring. Think woodland games, wild imagination and ice cream treats.
Here’s what’s waiting for you:
Wildlings Scamper Track (Ages 2–5)
Little legs, big adventures! Let your tots run, hop and wobble their way around our new wooden balance course, complete with woodland animal sculptures, toadstools, stepping stones and lots of wiggly giggles. It’s designed to build confidence, coordination – and very cute photo ops.
Dentastic Adventures (Ages 5–10)
Let imaginations run wild in our epic Wildwood Den Zone – stocked with sticks, branches, ropes, bunting and tarpaulin for kids to build their own epic hideaway. You can sit back and take it easy while they channel their inner Bear Grylls.
Buzzing Bee Trail (£4)
Pick up your clue sheet at the Visitor Centre and follow the trail around Manor Yard to solve buzzy puzzles and learn all about our favourite pollinators. Crack the code? Your little ones will earn a special summer reward - perfect for curious explorers!
Explore the Holloways
Take a family walk into our mysterious, Middle-Earth-style Holloways – carved sunken lanes with carvings on the walls, glowing moss (yes, really), cave spiders and secret magic lurking in the roots. Shutes Lane and Hell Lane are both spellbinding for mini explorers.
Lawn Games Galore
There’s classic summer fun all over the Estate with free games like Cornhole, Tic Tac Toe, and Apple Shy (just like a coconut shy – but a bit more Dorset). Challenge the kids or go head-to-head with Granny!
Food, Glorious Food
Refuel the crew with ice cream, delicious treats from the Symondsbury Deli, or a kids’ meal at Symondsbury Kitchen. Or grab a Wildlings Lunchbox to take away for a picnic adventure under the trees.
The best part?
Most of it is totally FREE (with free parking too), and it's all designed to keep kids active, curious, and full of summer magic – while grown-ups get to relax and soak up the good vibes (and coffee).
