Give your kids a night of creative building, movie magic, and hands-on STEM fun while you enjoy a night out! During this special 3-hour Parents’ Night Out on Jan. 17th, students will choose their favorite movie world—Wicked or Super Mario—and dive into LEGO® engineering challenges inspired by these popular stories. For ages 4 - 11. 

? What will kids do?
Students will complete a series of themed LEGO® builds, choosing a movie path to guide their creativity:

✨ Scene Build Challenge
Wicked: Build the Emerald City, Shiz University, or the Land of Oz
Super Mario: Build the Mushroom Kingdom, Peach’s Castle, or a Mario game level

? Character Build Challenge
Design and build a character-inspired creation, such as Elphaba or Glinda, Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, or Bowser, magical creatures, and more.

⚙️ Machine Build Challenge
Bring builds to life by engineering a moving creation! Students may design magical machines, flying contraptions, moving platforms, or obstacles—and can add motion using LEGO® motors for spinning, lifting, or sliding parts.

? Pizza Dinner Included
We’ll take a break about halfway through the evening to enjoy pizza and relax with friends before jumping back into building.

? Show & Share Finale
Builders will have a chance to share their creations and explain what inspired their designs, building confidence and communication skills along with engineering know-how.

This workshop is non-competitive, welcoming builders of all experience levels, and designed to let kids explore, imagine, and build at their own pace. We will share hand-outs with settings and character pictures from these movies to inspire creativity. Even if a student is not familiar with Super Mario or Wicked, they can still build settings, characters, and machines from their imaginations (and from other favorite movies)!
