Moving to a group-based format allows for more in-depth learning, hands-on scenarios, and opportunities to explore real-life situations that staff may encounter.What to expect:Understanding Type 1 diabetes and its management in schoolBlood glucose monitoring and insulin administrationRecognising and managing hypoglycaemia and hyperglycaemiaSupporting pupils with food, carbohydrate awareness, and physical activityPractical case discussions and scenario-based learningOpportunities to ask questions and share experiences with other schoolsTraining is interactive, supportive, and designed to equip staff with the knowledge and confidence needed to fulfil their duty of care.We recommend that schools identify key staff members to attend initially.
