Starting at 8:00 am and continuing nonstop until 8:00 pm volunteers from OEM will be stationed in front of the Kroger store with a rescue boat to collect non-perishable food items for the Second Harvest Food Bank.
 
This event is even more important as thousands of Metro Nashville Davidson County residents face a lapse in SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits in November.
 
During the event shoppers are asked to grab a couple of extra items to put in the OEM boat.
