Can you give me an idea what to expect?You will receive the starting location by email once you sign up. When you arrive your Harvest Leader will greet you and give you a brief orientation/training on safe harvesting techniques and demonstrate using any specialty tools provided for collecting fruit. We typically do 3-4 homes on each event. Fruit is loaded into crates (we provide those) and then transported by car to White Pony Express, a local food pantry or the CCC Food Bank.Where will we meet?Since most of our harvests are at private homes we do not publish that information ahead of time. Most of the time we do not know the starting location until 48 hours before the harvest. At that time we will email the address to all registered volunteers. The information will come in a reminder email from Eventbrite. It may also be listed under "Additional Information" on your confirmation email, if we know it when we publish the eventIs there an age limit?Children must be 6 years or older and accompanied by a parent/guardian. If you are under 18 and have a driver's license you may come on your own and drive your car to the harvest locations, but your parent must register you as a minor. Please list age of minor on registration form.Can I come without registering?No. Each harvest can accommodate a limited number of volunteers, and our insurance policy requires volunteers to provide emergency contact information and to review and accept the terms and conditions of the Release of Liability Agreement before attending a harvest.Where Will We Meet?If we know the starting location, the address is listed on the event page.
