Let's dye some yarn! Hand-painted yarn dyeing is a technique that involves applying bits of dye by hand to various parts of the yarn in order to achieve blends, fades, and other effects, just like painting with dye! In this drop-in workshop, you'll get the chance to try it out for yourself. We'll go through soaking and painting the yarns together, then we'll send you off while we heat set, wash, dry, and hank up the yarns for you over the next week.

Dyeing will all be here, at Callow Fibers, but pickup will be at Spindling Crow up the street at 631 N Callow Ave, about a week later. We'll collect your contact info during the workshop so that we can let you know when your yarn is ready for pickup!

Dye, tools, and equipment for this class are all provided, but you'll need to bring in your own yarn. Bring a 100g hank of clean, undyed wool yarn (must be wool or another protein fiber, or the acid dye we are using will not take). If you don't have some undyed wool yarn ready, you can buy some from us or from Spindling Crow.

Please wear appropriate clothing for dyeing, it can be a messy activity!
