The man, the myth, the legend, Donny “Peepee” Stricklin. With God beside him every step of the way, Donny has been defeating cancer and everything that goes with it. After receiving a liver transplant in August of this year (the first case to be done at UAB for metastatic disease) he has had quite the difficult recovery. Frequent hospitalizations and very minimal time home has been the biggest test of faith one could imagine. With my mom, Lorrie “Lala”, by his side, every single step of the way. My parents are NOT the type to ever ask for a single thing. Both have worked and still work as much as they can but have had to step away quite a bit due to the hospital stays, lab testings, and other appointments. Currently, he has been in the hospital for over 3 weeks battle necrotizing pancreatitis and has had a plethora of procedures which all have taken their toll on their body, mind, and spirits. However, God is not done with my family yet and continues to bless us every day. Sometimes, it just requires a change in perspective to see that. God Bless you all.
