The belief is the pottery is stronger and more valuable after the breakage and mending. Let’s celebrate the light and shed what no longer serves.Kintsugi is a powerful metaphor to explore layers of meaning in words like: broken, pieces, mending. And the dive into the symbolic glue which assists us to mend.Narrative Practices honor and acknowledge the layers of influence that impact our view of self, other and the world around us.What to expect: 90 minutesBrief introduction to the art of Kintsugi with visuals shared.Brief introduction to Narrative Practices.Exploration of the Kintsugi metaphors through guided reflections and journal prompts: broken, pieces, the symbolic glue which assists us to mend.Opportunity for sharing of insights for each of the guided reflection/journal prompts.Final group sharing of collective wisdom pulled together by facilitator into a poem.Kristin Pedemonti, Narrative Therapy Practitioner (Master's Narrative Therapy & Community Work, University of Melbourne, Australia) delights in working with diverse populations in reclaiming their preferred stories of their lives. She is the Founder of Steer Your Story, how to get into the driver's seat of your life and steer your story rather than it steering you. Kristin is honored to work with survivors of abuse and complex trauma journeying away from stories of forever damaged toward their preferred life narratives which acknowledge their skills, abilities and worth. Her therapeutic work with Kintsugi metaphors and physical art process explores stories of broken, pieces, and the 'glue' that assists us to mend.
