Gare du Nord '25th Anniversary Tour' in MEZZ

Na een pauze van vier jaar keert Gare du Nord in 2026 eenmalig terug op het podium om de 25e verjaardag van de band te vieren.

Gare du Nord startte vijfentwintig jaar geleden met de culthit ‘Pablo’s Blues’ en het met goud bekroonde album ‘(In Search Of) Excellounge’. Vanwege de unieke internationale sound tekende de band als eerste in Nederland een platencontract met het iconische New Yorkse jazzlabel Blue Note Records. De band brak door naar het brede publiek met het album ‘Sex ‘n’ Jazz’ waarop ook Marvin Gaye en Paul Carrack te horen zijn. Het album werd met drievoudig platina onderscheiden en is tot op heden het meest verkochte Nederlandse jazzalbum aller tijden.

Speciaal voor deze tour heeft de full live band hun eigen ‘queen of soul’ Leona Philippo in de band, waardoor hits als ‘You’re My Medicine’, ‘Marvin & Miles’ en ‘Beautiful Day’ nóg meer soul hebben dan voorheen. Verwacht tijdloze soul-classics, funky jazz grooves en de spectaculaire finale ‘We Still Grow’.
