Dan Owen zette zijn eerste stappen in de muziek in de lokale pubs van Shropshire waar hij samen met zijn zus optrad. Onder de naam Bluesboy Dan speelde hij vertolkingen van legendes als Robert Johnson en John Lee Hooker. Zijn Bob Dylan-cover 'The Ballad of Hollis Brown' ging viraal en toen ging het hard! Zo speelde hij in het voorprogramma van Birdy.

Op zijn release 'The Willow Tree' toont hij zijn meest persoonlijke werk tot nu toe. Het album ademt puurheid: van het vakmanschap van gitaarmeester Ariel Posen tot ongeplande momenten in de studio, zoals een blaffende hond op de achtergrond. Het is die ongepolijste echtheid die Dan Owen zo uniek maakt. Nu is daar het gloednieuwe album 'Neptune'.
