We are excited to announce Aberdeen University Canoe Club will be holding our eleventh North Esk River Race on Sunday 12th of April 2026, please save the date!
N’esk Race is a national whitewater kayaking competition open to all kayakers who run grade 3 and above. There are three racing categories with each having men’s and women’s competitions. The races include an intermediate course, advanced course, and the iron races.
The courses are as follows:
-Intermediate course (grade 3), Pool above Rock-garden to pool above Rocks of Solitude (triple step)
-Advance course (grade 4), Pool above Rock-garden to pool below Presidents
-Iron course (grade 4), Rock-garden to pool below presidents, then run back to blue door and continue running back up to the start line.
(Entry into the Iron races requires a swim free advanced run to qualify).
*Note, due to the ever-changing levels and tree situation the courses may be altered if necessary.
The prizes for each category are yet to be confirmed, however past sponsors have included Hiko, IR, NRS, Peak UK, Pyranha and Radical Rider among many others!
