"What Does Democracy Look Like?" An Exhibition hosted by Brattleboro Indivisible

Join us on November 16th at the Latchis Theater for one-night celebration and exploration of democracy through art and storytelling that addresses the question: What Does Democracy Look Like?

We've curated an evening dedicated to elevating stories and expressions that tap into our common experiences—the joy, challenge, hope, and fundamental importance of working together and engaging with one another.

This event is about finding common ground, celebrating local creativity, and having a meaningful conversation about the future we all share. It will feature:

Visual art pieces by local artists including Candace Jensen, Naomi Lindenfeld, Marie-Pierre Py and many more
Live music, poetry and spoken-word performances by Verandah Porche, Patty Carpenter, April Ossman and many more
A panel discussion moderated by Meg Mott with guests Gemma Seymour, Tristan Roberts, and Susie Webster-Toleno. A lively discussion that reveals how we can build bridges across diverse perspectives to keep our republic strong. Let’s see how we can disagree better by thinking a bit more sharply and listening more kindly.

This event is intentionally designed to welcome everyone, from across the political spectrum and at all levels of civic engagement.
