Join me for a 2 hour forest bathing session (guided mindfulness in nature) in the morning to honour the seasonal threshold of Winter Solstice. We'll wonder and wander though the forest small group where I will lead you gently through a sequence of mindful and sensory practices crafted for your relaxation and connection with your surroundings. This session will include meeting some of the trees associated with the folklore of Winter Solstice - the shortest day in the Northern hemisphere, the longest night before the light begins to return.
Forest Bathing is the English translation of the Japanese term ‘Shinrin-yoku’. To better understand this concept, it means ‘spending quality time, fully immersed in the forest atmosphere, under the canopy of trees, for health and wellbeing purposes.
My unique approach to Forest Bathing has been developed through years of study into mindfulness, meditation, Yoga Nidra, sound therapy and forest bathing.
Our session will include sensory practices, guided meditation, a sprinkling of sound therapy, tea and snacks and optional sharing to enhance the experience of the group.
Parking at High Lodge payable is discounted to just £4 for this session, your £4 parking is valid all day!
HEALTH CONSIDERATIONS
While Forest Bathing is in general suitable for everyone, these sessions do involve walking on uneven ground across the forest floor 'off the beaten track' as well as some time spent seated or laying on the ground. If you have specific mobility restrictions or this may pose any issues for you please get in touch for a confidential discussion prior to booking.
We walk approximately 10 mins to the start and end of each session to find a peaceful spot away from the busyness of the main site.
These sessions run outdoors in all weathers except high winds.
This activity takes place in partnership with Forestry England.
Please be kindly advised that 7 days notice is required for all changes to tickets or cancellations. Thank you.
