There, through accessible, all-ages, hands-on collaborative workshops, they strengthen community bonds and create temporary artworks and performances.The 2026 Parkscapes series of dance, nature journalling, sun printmaking and improv for seniors workshops concludes with a community celebration in Chinguacousy Park and you're invited! Your neighbours have been busy and can't wait to share what they've created. It all happens on Thursday, August 27th at 6:00 p.m.At the celebration, Enakshi Sinha's dance and movement workshop participants will perform a nature-inspired dance routine and Laal Button's seniors group will put on an improv performance, while Aditi Ganeev Sangwan's sun-printmaking workshop participants will mount their communal sunprint installation/mural and Minoya Magendrathajan's nature journalling workshop participants will share their artwork and encourage you to draw your own nature postcard.Performances:"Whispers of Nature," an Odissi dance performance inspired by the journey the Parkscapes: Dance and Movement Workshop series intergenerational participants had of rediscovering their connection to nature through observation, movement and community. Not only will you be able to watch this performance but you may get the opportunity to learn the dance and participate in it!Watch and participate in the improvised story created on the spot by the seniors who took part in the Parkscapes: Improv and Comedy Workshops for Seniors series as they ask you, the audience, for the characters and locations that will drive their storytelling. The performance may or may not be in English, Hindu or Punjabi ; it all depends on your suggestions as the audience defines the parameters live.Enjoy the musical stylings of a three-piece Brampton JAM lineup (guitar/vox, bass, drums) all evening long. Feeling inspired by the rythms, grab a small handheld percussion instrument and join the band of a song or two.Exhibited Art:Page through the collaborative community field guide created by all the Parkscapes: Nature Journalling Workshop series participants. This volume captures the plants, landscapes, observations, and memories that surfaced during the workshops.Explore the 40+ handmade postcards created by the Parkscapes: Nature Journalling Workshop series participants featuring personal messages for the Parkscapes: Community Celebration attendees.
