As part of Ontario Culture Days, participants will reflect on how food connects us to memory, family, and culture while illustrating a personal or family recipe. Guided through the drawing process and fueled by Chinese tea and light snacks, this cozy workshop invites both beginners and seasoned illustrators to celebrate the heartwarming connections behind what we eat.
Registration is recommended to secure your spot, but drop-ins are welcome if space allows. Light refreshments will be provided.
Moon & Memory is a vibrant, intergenerational series of hands-on art workshops celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival through storytelling, food, folklore, and community. Led by illustrator Meegan Lim, the series offers creative ways to connect with East and Southeast Asian heritage across four unique sessions.

Lead Facilitator
Meegan Lim is an illustrator and arts facilitator whose work bridges visual storytelling with community engagement. Drawing inspiration from her East and Southeast Asian heritage, she creates art that celebrates food, culture, and shared experiences. Meegan’s workshops are rooted in accessibility, creativity, and connection, and she has led programs for festivals, schools, and cultural organizations across the GTA.
Assistant Facilitator
Carlena Jean is a 2D illustrator and animation designer passionate about capturing the beauty of the world and its diverse people. Her work explores themes of queer love, identity, and fashion through widely accessible media including risography prints, zines, jewelry, textiles, and digital entertainment. Carlena’s style is characterized by romantic colour palettes, flowing lines, bold shapes, photographic textures, and stencil techniques, creating vibrant and expressive visuals that celebrate individuality and connection.
