- **Event Description**: Kimekomi is a traditional Japanese craft technique.

What it is:

Cutting grooves into a surface (we will be using foam board)

Tucking pieces of fabric into those grooves to create a pattern
Instead of sewing, the fabric is pressed into the grooves, giving a smooth, elegant look with crisp edges.
Origins: The technique dates back to the 18th century in Kyoto, often linked to artisans at the Kamigamo Shrine, where early dolls were made from leftover materials.
We will be using this technique to create a scene on foam board that looks like it has been quilted.
This craft is a great use of scrap fabric. There is NO sewing involved!
Max. of 10 students for this workshop. All supplies and instruction are included in your ticket price.
