Overview
The Cairnwell Munros comprise three peaks: Carn Aosda, Carn a’ Gheoidh, and The Cairnwell.
The walk will begin at the car park, which is situated at an elevation of 650 meters.
The initial ascent will be to Carn Aosda (915 meters), traversing ski slopes and crossing ski runs—assuming all snow has melted. From the summit, the route descends along the ridge to a bealach above Loch Vrotachan.
The walk continues with an ascent to the summit of Carn a’ Gheoidh (975 meters). The return follows the same path back to the bealach, where the route then turns right toward the Cairnwell (933 meters).
The descent retraces the ridge track, before following a well-defined path to the right, concluding at the café and the car park.
Weather permitting, we may experience exceptional views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
