Potato Day

The annual Potato Day arrives at the Darley Street Market on Saturday 28 February 2026 from 10am – 4pm.

Come to the pop-up stalls on the Fresh Food Floor where West Yorkshire Organic Group will be selling hundreds of locally-grown ‘seed potatoes’ for 20p each (cash-only, bring your own bags).

Seed potatoes can be used to grow your very own potatoes. The seed potatoes, which come in many varieties (to be announced nearer the time) can be planted into a foot of soil and will grow potatoes for that year’s harvest three-months later. You will also be able to get help and advice from the team on how to grow them.

You can also come along to a special ‘Super Potato’ workshop from 11am – 3pm.
